Abstract

Hingoli district is located in the Marathwada, an administrative division of Maharashtra, India, with geographical area consisting of 4526 sq. km., out of which 249.39 sq. km. covered with forest. This region is rich with medicinal plants and some tribal people of this region still using these plants and Ethnomedicinal information. The present investigation aimed to highlight 20 medicinal plants belonging to different families, with their local names, family, morphological characters and floristic characters, medicinal uses and other uses. A total twenty plant species belonging to 20 different families was reported for different therapeutic uses along with their floristic characters. Ethnomedicinal properties have been reported and investigation on the local medicinal plants among the, Andh, Bhill, Paradhi, Mahadeo koli, Vaidu etc. tribales of the district.
