Abstract

This research has been designed for analyzing the discourses related to Digital India from the government websites and the people. The analysis is assumed to put forward major findings of how digital India has been presented before the public, by identifying the representation of social actors, understanding the context of discourses and the linguistic manifestations. For the study, Digital India initiatives related to the rural development were analysed critically applying discourse historical analysis (Wodak, 2001). This research interprets the way of communicating development programs for benefitting the rural area. To develop a collective action towards creative living, this study evaluates the relationship between the discursive strategies in rural development programs communicated through new media.
