Abstract

Although the performance motivation mainly falls under the dimensions of personality, such as determination, supremacy, commitment, and trust in the athlete success however, sustaining motivation of athletes remains challenging. The purpose of this study was to compare the athlete’s motivation and influence in first division athletics clubs of Ethiopia. To achieve this purpose, a total of 168 respondents were selected from six first division athletic clubs of Ethiopia which has been randomly selected from fifteen first division athletic clubs using simple random sampling method. The data collected were statistically analysed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics such as, one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and post hoc (LSD) the level of significance difference at 0.05 which was used to accept or reject the hypotheses drawn and tested.
